Major Projects

  • Over 2,500 verge and street trees have been planted.
  • Many thousands of bulbs have been planted from the north to the south of the town.
  • Flowerbeds and borders have been created on roundabouts.
  • Town seats and containers have been installed and are regularly maintained.
  • We created a Wildlife Garden at Brindley Ford.
  • We decorate the town seasonally with bedding plants.
  • We care for approximately 1,000 rose bushes.
  • We commissioned the Queen’s Jubilee railings at the Town Hall in 2002.
  • We commissioned a stone to commemorate the Millennium which is in the Millennium Garden in Station Road.
  • We commissioned 2 milestone stones on Meadows Way.
  • We re-used stone from a wall which was demolished to make way for Sainsbury’s to build stone flower containers near to the Dorset Drive roundabout.
  • In 2018 we received funding to allow us to purchase a polytunnel for our allotment. Volunteers worked to lay foundations and erect the tunnel using donations from the community.
  • We have commissioned and erected sculptures of a clematis called Miss Bateman near to the Dorset Drive roundabout . The clematis was named after the sister of James Bateman, the creator of Biddulph Grange Gardens.
  • We created a community orchard using two generous memorial gifts.
